NCCI kick off 3e Program, First Energy Assessment at Alltex Industries

Launched officially in March 2015, the Energy Efficiency Engagement (3e) financed by DANIDA and implemented by the Nordic Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Bangladesh (NCCI) has quickly gained the interest of local businesses. On May 12th the first 3e energy assessment was performed at Alltex Industries Limited and more than 15 companies are already ready to participate in the 3e programme with the ambition to reduce energy use, reduce emissions and increase profitability.

Alltex Industries Ltd is a full export oriented company and a pioneer in the Home Textile sector in Bangladesh. The factory was established in 1992 and covers an area of 56 acres of land. They are one of the top suppliers of Home Textiles and service many foreign buyers from Scandinavia, Europe, North America and Australia.

It is a company that has already implemented many noteworthy activities around safety and environment, but have shown a keen interest in continuous improvement. DANIDA Senior Adviser at the 3e secretariat at NCCI. Together with Liaison and Research Officer A. K. M. Marzanul Islam he visited the factory during the energy assessment. BD Technology, a leading energy auditing firm in Bangladesh handled the walk-through energy assessment and the results and recommendations are awaited in the coming weeks.
